1. Theory and pool dives (3 choices)

Wednesday evenings, one intensive week-end, or private class based on your schedule

Wednesday evenings:

We organize 5 classroom sessions of approximately 2 hours each, for a total of 10 to 12 hours. These classes are held at the Aquadome in Lasalle.

Following the end of each classroom sessions, we have a diving session the Aquadome pool in Lasalle. Exercises practiced in the pool are always presented in class first. We plan for 5 pool sessions of approximately 2 hours each, for a total of about 10 hours of scuba diving practice.

You need to start reading your course manual which you’ll receive in your prep session. You need to read at least one chapter per week, complete your knowledge review at the end of each chapter, and bring these to your instructor.

We’ll explore each subject in depth in class with the help of multimedia presentations and group discussions. You will have 4 quizzes of 10 questions each, as well as two final exams: one for PADI, and one for the Government of Quebec (FQAS).

Intensive week-end

The PADI Open Water Diver intensive program is our most popular. This is a perfect course for people with complicated schedules. We recommend that our future ZEN divers take the weekday option for a more Zen tempo.

Ten to twelve hours of theory in our classroom located at Total Diving, followed by nine hours in the Aquadome pool in Lasalle.

At the end of each classroom session we head to the Aquadome pool in Lasalle. Exercises practiced in the pool are always presented in class first. We plan for 5 pool sessions over two days, for a total of about 9 hours of scuba diving practice.

You need to start reading your course manual which you’ll receive in your prep session. You need to read all chapters, complete the knowledge review at the end of each chapter, and bring these to your instructor.

We’ll explore each subject in depth in class with the help of multimedia presentations and group discussions. You will have 4 quizzes of 10 questions each, as well as two final exams: one for PADI, and one for the Government of Quebec (FQAS).

2. Open Water dives

After your theory and pool sessions, you have 3 different options to complete your open water dives:

Option 1) With us, in Quebec

We generally dive at the Kahnawake quarry, just south of the Mercier bridge, just 10 minutes away from Total Diving. No need to book accommodation this way. However, you will need to plan for transportation.

You can also see the week-end that works best for you. We offer these certification week-ends quite regularly. You can discuss this during your prep session.

If you require rental equipment for the week-end, you need to reserve with us at Total Diving. We’ll also discuss this during your prep session before your first scuba diving course.

Option 2) With us, under the tropical sun…

After your theory and pool sessions with us at Total Diving, you can join us for one of our scuba diving trips in an exotic location.

There is always a Total Diving scuba instructor on these trips. You can complete your certification dives during the first two days of the trip, with the tropical fish, and the keep diving with us for the rest of the week! And, it would also give you the opportunity to complete your Level 2 during the same trip!

It’s an experience you will remember for the rest of your life!

Option 3) Elsewhere…

If you have already planned a scuba diving trip, we can give you a referral document so you can complete your 4 certification dives in any other PADI dive center anywhere in the world.

However, we do suggest you complete your certification before leaving on vacation (option 1, see above)… Why bring stress during your precious vacation? Leave with peace of mind, with your shiny new certification card.
