PADI Specialty certifications

PADI Specialty certifications are an excellent opportunity to further your knowledge on a a chosen subject. Thanks to our multidisciplinary team of experts we can offer all the available specialties.

It’s important to note the distinction that a specialty is many dives within the same theme, versus the theme dive within the advanced course. A theme dive is more of an introduction and not a specialty, and they are also referred to as a PADI Adventure Dive.

Here is a brief description of each PADI specialty

PADI Enriched Air Diver 

Total Diving’s most popular program. This mix provides a longer bottom time. Total Diving has the largest Nitrox (enriched air) station in Canada.

PADI Drysuit Diver 

Extreme comfort, even in cold water. Drysuit diving requires some training. All our beginner divers receive a drysuit orientation.

PADI Deep Diver 

This certification allows you to reach the maximum depth of recreational diving at 130 feet / 40 meters. It’s also a prerequisite for technical diving. Come defy narcosis with us. You won’t feel narcosis… We’ll help you find it.

PADI Wreck Diver 

Are you passionate about maritime history? There is a big difference between diving on a wreck versus a real wreck dive. Come learn the different wreck structures. A little safe penetration interests you? Join us. 

PADI Drift Diver 

Tired of struggling against the current and using up your air too fast? Our drift diving specialty is a great opportunity to learn how to understand current, and work with it instead of against it.

PADI Search & Recovery 

Definitively one of the most interesting specialties which helps you find and recover submerged objects. Divers are often asked to retrieve stuff underwater.

PADI Ice Diver 

Not as cold as you would think! Ice diving is an extraordinary and fun adventure, with exceptional visibility and luminosity. Diving made extremely safe with ropes and a security team.

PADI Digital Underwater Photographer 

Leave only bubbles and bring back only photos. You can save a lot of time with our underwater photography course so you can bring back great memories.

AWARE Fish Identification 

We have a fish expert on our team. After this training you’ll know a lot more than just some green fish in Quebec. Our dive stories are always more interesting when we can name our favorites fishes.

PADI Equipment Specialist

You want to know more about your scuba equipment. Tricks to help you out in case of a problem. Play with internal regulator parts. This is not an equipment maintenance technician course.

PADI Night Diver 

Many divers enjoy the 5@7 at Kahnawake Quarry and do night diving to relax after a hard work day. With a night diving specialty you’ll be a lot more confidant underwater with your lamp.

PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy (PPB)

Perfect buoyancy is the ultimate challenge for a diver. Let us help you with many tricks of the trade. All divers should take this specialty.

PADI Sidemount Diver 

Sidemount isn’t only a technical diver thing, it’s accessible to all. It’s actually even easier than with a back mount. You can also double your air quantity.

PADI Diver Propulsion Vehicle (DPV) 

Like in James Bond movies, you can zoom around underwater with an underwater scooter. It’s fairly easy to have fun doing so, but safety measures and practice are essential. It’s quite a ride!

PADI Underwater Navigation

In many destinations worldwide a divemaster is there to lead the way. In other places we are left on our own. Build your navigation confidence with tricks from our experts so you can always come back to your starting point.

PADI Self Reliant Diver 

Contrary to popular belief, this is not a solo diver certification but a course to be able to be self-sufficiant in most underwater circumstances, which such things as air and regulator redundancy. Diving alone is like playing football alone, a lot less fun!

We offer very competitive course packages. You can even reach the prestigious PADI Master Scuba Diver award.

For divers wishing to obtain their PADI Divemaster professional status, the PADI Search and Recovery and PADI Deep specialty will give you credit toward your divemaster course.
